New blood enters the academy after our biggest open-trial weekend at the arena yet. Sixty hopefuls walked through the doors on Saturday morning; five walked out with academy contracts.
Inside the trial weekend
Hopefuls rotated through morning skill stations — aim, comms and Kaine's famously brutal utility quiz — before afternoon showcase matches in front of the full roster. Venn and the coaches scouted every lobby live from the desk.
The roster agreed the standard was the highest they had seen. Two of the five are still in school; all five join academy training on Wednesday nights from next month.
Doors stay open
